This is my third Kathy Reichs novel & I'm afraid I'm detecting a pattern I'm not crazy about. I like the "nuts & bolts" forensic stuff but not so crazy about the way she constantly gets her MC into insane situations from which she barely escapes - usually with major physical damage. Has anyone ever documented the number of ribs she's broken? Anyway, for someone so smart she does a lot of stupid stuff. Not sure I'll spent $9-12 on future purchases.

I am a big Kathy Reichs fan. I've read all her books. I even pre-order them so they can show up on my e-reader like a present! With that said, sigh, I was very disappointed with this book. It was hard to follow, and frankly I didn't want to. I found myself skimming just to see what happened. The only thing I liked about this book was the ending. Sorry Kathy, I know the next one will be better.

Speaking in Bones is another winning entry in the Tempe Brennan series. Tempe quickly becomes obsessed with bones found in the nearby mountain area. Partly, it gives her an escape from answering Ryan's marriage proposal. A websleuth, defrocked priests, and extreme churches complicate the case. Tempe leaps to several erroneous conclusions and is shocked when the truth is revealed. Once started, I couldn't put it down
