I read it one afternoon basically in one sitting.

I enjoyed this novel for its constant tension. The clues were interesting and kept me turning the pages. I’ve noticed one thing a few times in recent novels of this type, though; the protagonist keeps on doing very stupid things that made me say “…wait, what did you just do? Are you crazy?…”

I seldom give reviews, especially 5 stars but this book held my interest and I could not put it down. This is the first I have read by this author but going now to find more.

This was a better story with the hero not doing to many stupid things. I like that her FRENCH friend and Slidell are back.

Obviously this author is not a mother. The main character’s lack of concern and curiosity for her daughter and also her friend was a complete distraction from the book. No mother would act that way. In addition, if a friend with concerning information no-showed under suspicious circumstances, wouldn’t you immediately follow up? Ridiculous. And what’s with all of the juvenile slang and lack of professionalism? Is the author just tired of coming up with intelligent dialect?

Ii really enjoyed this book. There were definitely some twists and turns along the way, but I had determined the ultimate bad guy about half way through the book. It didn’t impact on how much I enjoyed reading it though. Can’t wait for the next one in the series. And I always want more of Ryan in the books.
