Description

From USA TODAY bestselling author Stefanie London comes the first book in her scorching-hot miniseries Close Quarters! Security expert Owen Fletcher and Detective Hannah Anderson are going undercover…as husband and wife. Their marriage may be fake, but the attraction burning between them is dangerously real!

Owen Fletcher is the most irritating man I’ve ever met…and the hottest fantasy I’ve never forgotten. I haven’t seen him since he left the police force to work as a security expert in New York, but now he’s back in Melbourne to help my department break up a ring of jewel thieves. The catch? We’re going undercover as husband and wife.

Getting up close and personal with Owen is messing with my professional focus. I should definitely not be dreaming about running my hands through Owen’s hair and kissing his smart-ass mouth. But there’s a solution: a no-strings affair to get him out of my system. For one night, I’ll take charge of my own pleasure and invite Owen to explore the red-hot chemistry that’s threatening to combust at any moment…

As former classmates at the Academy, Hannah always had a crush on Owen. Owen KNEW, even back in Academy, that Hannah would be his downfall. So he does what he does best, he runs....Years later, Owen is working as a Security specialist in New York. When his expertise is needed, Owen returns home to go undercover. Hannah always felt she had something to prove, being a female in a male dominated career. Realizing her dreams comes down to one thing, going undercover with her former crush....Owen. Hannah and Owen have to “fake” being married while figuring out the players in the jewel heists. But one touch leads to another, leading to another.... I absolutely loved this novel! Although parts were predictable, the ending was not. The chemistry between Owen and Hannah was scorching! Knowing her heart would likely be broken, Hannah was willing to give them a chance. Owen, too caught up in past tragedies, was not. Sometimes it takes the love of your life walking away to put things into perspective. Some sage advice from his grandma also helped! Living is not necessarily living. You have to be willing to put yourself out there and open yourself up to love and life expectancies—the good and bad. Awesome ending! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
