Even though I have seen the movie more than once, reading this made me jump numerous times. A quick read, and what a ride! I like the style of writing and will be reading more ADF books soon. In case you don't know, this is the story of people on a ship in space returning from a mission when a distant signal activates the ship to wake up the crew to go investigate what the signal is all about. What they find out is that the signal is not one of distress but one of warning...
  • Good read! Another layer of fear.

Just finished my copy. Huge ALIEN fan and have the film memorized. Interesting development of certain ideas from the story not present in the film. Another layer of fear from descriptions not possible to make in the movie: LV426 conditions, claustrophobia of the Nostromo, the infamously tense Act III... Also some variances that are interesting. Definitely worth the read.
