Yet again this author has brought us a book that I couldn’t find the power to put down. This ragtag group of mercenaries find themselves on a side quest where the newest member has to prove himself and his ability to think on his feet. But his entire life has taught him to play his part perfectly. Together with his lady love, and an unexpected ally, they clear the rot from the crew and find the love that has been just out of reach. The story was fantastic with moments of joy in between those of terror, keeping the energy levels high and the story moving. This book was a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see how the next story plays out beyond the glimpse the author gave us.

I love the world of the Lathar and this tale like the others comes to life with every word I read. Lina is an admirable scientist consumed by her work yet when she determines her employers are doing the unthinkable she knows she can call the Warborne. Mayce being a member of the Lathar offshoot Navarr adds twists especially to the more personal part of the story. The fated mate aspect is one of my favorites and gives the sexy times so much more heart. I plowed through this book in one sitting but enjoyed very minute.
