I enjoyed this book! 4.5 stars. If I wasn’t able to figure out one of the big reveals by page 200, it would have gotten 5 stars. And just because I had noticed one of the big reveals, doesn’t mean that there weren’t other twists that I did NOT see coming. I absolutely loved the way Kate Morton was able to bring the characters to life and she wrote in such vivid detail, I was able to conjure up the scenery to the point that I feel as if I was there as the story had unfolded. I definitely plan on checking out more books by this author.

In the beginning I was confused but then I realized I was reading a story in a story that come together and then reading a book in a book. It’s so good!

It was exhausting to finish this. It dragged on and on, repeating itself, going off on tangents, introducing additional story lines, characters, and background that added nothing. Good premise but horribly written.

About this story draws you in. Each character has a story and they all fit perfectly together. You may think you know the end…but…

Wow the first part of the book was hard to get through. Just when I was ready to quit reading the book, it got better. The author really put a lot of detail into the book. I wasn’t sure it was necessary.

This is a wonderful story with a lot of intrigue, twists, and turns. I love it.

Love all her books.

Had to finish and know the story. Such an unbelievable writer. Now on our to visit list is Adelaide Hills

Wow! Just finished this book, it’s beautifully written as it tells the true crime mystery affecting multiple people ensnared by poisonous secrets, unknowingly altering the course of their lives. The author slowly reveals the complex layers of familial relationships and how they can stifle your potential to grow. If I could give this book 6 stars, I would.

Love Kate Morton’s books, but this one was iffy. Great start and ending, but so much extra descriptions and the same scene viewed through different eyes. Would’ve been great at 350 pages.
