I did a seminar on creativity and have read probably 15 creativity books. This is best book on creative thinking. The author does a fine job of helping you open up mental locks. Tips for getting ideas into action as well.

"Whack" has lots of great stories and examples to go along with its fun and provocative creative thinking strategies. I recommend it to all to get your creative juices flowing!

I'm a long time fan of this book. It's always gives me a new perspective every time I read it (or look through it). I'm glad it's now an iBook so I'll have it with me. If you're stuck in your current way of thinking (or don't even know you're stuck), this book will provide you with practical tools for opening up your mind to new ways of thinking.

Lots of anecdotes, propositions, questions, and exercises to overcome the attitudes that prevent us from using our creativity. When I picked up this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't know what the "whack on the head" would be about: work or personal. Little did I know that the problems I wanted to address were about my outlook on my life. It's interesting that the author starts the book with "Mental Sex" and concludes with "A Whack on the Other Side of the Head" which talks about getting creative ideas into action.

This is a "must " book. It's concise and powerful. Good description of the 10 "mental locks" that prevent us from being more creative. Lots of tips to boot. Plus, it's a lot of fun.

Lots of stories, examples, exercises, and basic creativity principles to help you get your neurons firing. My professor recommended that I read it and I'm glad I did.
