There are quite a few books that include much better information on wiring guitars; The Guitar Handbook by Ralph Denyer is an excellent example. Not a lot of them are available yet from the Apple bookstore as of today June 28, 2010, but will become available as more and more titles are added. $10 is a high price for this very limited ebook. Much better wiring tips and diagrams for many different electric guitar types are available by simply searching on Google.
