Banal. Forgettable characters.

This is a wonderful book. The plot, the characters and language are beguiling.
However, it does have an unfinished feel that makes it less compelling than it might have been.

A great story. What a way to end his work.

This is a marvelous, moody, farewell book by a storyteller with the reins firmly in hand. It’s not very long, but it’s exactly as long as it needs to be and not a paragraph more.
Plot?

If there was a plot or even a recognizable storyline in there, I missed it. And I read to the bitter end.

I enjoyed the characters here more than in many of his other books … maybe they are easier to understand? Their situations more homespun? Not so invincible perhaps? I even like how it all ends. Think I will reread it.
