I’m usually pretty forgiving of books if they’re interesting with good characters, but this one is rough. There doesn’t really seem to have been any editing for this book…at all…or even proofreading for basic facts. They end up at the crater of an active volcano in Honolulu at some point. A couple seconds on google could have told them there isn’t one, but maybe writing in a little island hopping would have been more detail than they felt like writing? The plot was promising, but seems rushed and carelessly done. It ends with a cliffhanger that did not at all tempt me to go for book 2, because at no point did they make any effort to make me actually care about any of the characters. Unless their goal was to make me dislike the MC and find the love interests creepy and gross…I guess those are feelings…unfortunately though, they aren’t feelings that keep me interested in the story.
