I am a former Ivy League admissions officer and about to become a dad, so this book was both a walk down memory lane and an eye-opening guide for what is to come. Unless politicians and policymakers radically change higher education in the United States, I expect that I will need to reread this book every couple of years. Despite covering anxiety-inducing topics, Ron left me feeling neither despair nor anger. Instead, I feel empowered to ask questions of admissions officers and inspired to take my first steps towards paying for our son’s (possible) college education.
