This is a really boring set of characters doing really boring (and unbelievable) things together.

hard to believe this character is a doctor with her poor judgement and life choices. at least the author did not try to put her into a cutting edge of medicine involving life or death and quick summarizing of known facts. she clings to an old inaccurate former no commitment boyfriend who dumped her and was eager to meet with him for lunch years later. her best friend is vaguely aware of truth. her "friend dead "friend" only was around when she wanted something. idiot fat girl believed and trusted a bother that had never shown any concern for anyone other than himself. why all the approval for overweight women with unhealthy eating and exercise patterns? they appear to be estrogen dominant because fat produces estrogen. this seems to make them emotionally unstable. another cliche follow the recipe author. another woman's made for drama queen story. weakness and foolish wins. ladies this is pathetic and at best presents idiotic roll models. is this what you want for your daughters to believe in? the second star is only because i managed to read it and there was no giggly pseudo porn.

Good story that really kept me guessing who the bad guys were!
  • Can’t keep facts straight.

I enjoyed the book. The story was interesting but for some reason the author had trouble keeping her facts straight. Why was Mason’s brother called Johnny by Mason then Michael by his mother? Was the refugee family with the 15 year old girl from Ethiopia as first mentioned or Nigerian as stated later? The book would have been so much better if I didn’t have to go back to check what was said earlier because I was confused. The author needs better proof readers.
  • Wish I could give it 5 stars.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why Lurleen’s character had to speak French throughout the book. She’s from the South, for starters, and it served absolutely no purpose except to irritate me! I feel like it ruined a perfectly good book.
  • Excellent cozy read

Hard to put down. I ever did figure it out until the story exposed it toward the very end. Great read.
