Description

INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER • Brilliant, audaciously rogue police officer Harry Hole is back and in the throes of a new, unanticipated rage in this installment of the New York Times bestselling series—once again hunting the murderer who has haunted his entire career.

“I can’t think of anyone who makes my skin crawl like Nesbo.”—The New York Times Book Review

Harry Hole is not in a good place. Rakel—the only woman he's ever loved—has ended it with him, permanently. He's been given a chance for a new start with the Oslo Police but it's in the cold case office, when what he really wants is to be investigating cases he suspects have ties to Svein Finne, the serial rapist and murderer who Harry helped put behind bars. And now, Finne is free after a decade-plus in prison—free, and Harry is certain, unreformed and ready to take up where he left off. But things will get worse. When Harry wakes up the morning after a blackout, drunken night with blood that's clearly not his own on his hands, it's only the very beginning of what will be a waking nightmare the likes of which even he could never have imagined.

Don't miss Jo Nesbo's latest Harry Hole thriller, Killing Moon!

Too much going on, and too many women lusting after Harry. Killing off Rakel is a shark jump. The killer’s identity , while a surprise, is implausible.

A great book and series all along but... Wow. One of the best endings to any book I’ve ever read. Cheers Jo Nesbo. Well done. Thank you.

Compelling and ingenious plot, absorbing concepts, great depth of character throughout, and a wealth of fascinating psychological and other information. Jo Nesbo’s best book yet.

The infamous and brilliant detective has somehow managed to solve, and survive, a case very close to his home and heart of hearts. Thank you Mr Nesbo for such a flawed, and yet resilient good guy as Harry Hole.

Spoiler Alert! I have read all of this author’s books, and would rate most 5/5. However, Knife was the most convoluted book that disappointed me very much. The dull musical tangents were distractions. The back and forth time periods were confusing and unnecessary. Rakel is murdered, drunken Harry dies but doesn’t really, Bjorn is a murderer, Harry is a father, the serial rapist dies (best ending ever for him) killed by a damaged ex soldier seeking revenge for his raped sister! Oh my goodness! I skipped large portions of this because the dialogue was trite and ridiculous. Only the fantastic ending saved the day and earned the book a 1 instead of 0. I still don’t know the point of the stroke victim watching a screen with the blue dress caught on a limb. And the stories of Afghanistan were just too absurd. Bjorn didn’t need to die like Hank Williams. Please. Could have been a book of focused short stories instead of a long and boring book! I won’t be looking for the next Harry Hole installment, as I’ve given him the perfect ending myself.
