Description

Psychologist Grace Callahan has no idea that she has a secret--one worth killing for. But when she finds out one of her clients has been murdered, she quickly realizes that the computer security specialist wasn't simply suffering from paranoia.

Detective Nate Quinn has just been cleared for active duty after a bombing killed eighteen people, including his partner, and left him dealing with PTSD. His first case back on the job involves the murder of Stephen Shaw, and his only lead turns out to be an old friend, Grace Callahan--and her life is in grave danger. Someone believes Shaw gave his psychologist information before he died. Information they are willing to kill for.

With her signature pulse-pounding suspense, Lisa Harris takes readers deep into the heart of fear in this race against the clock.

A Secret to Die For by Lisa Harris is a total Adrenaline Rush! Harris’ exquisite descriptions make her readers feel as though they’re a character in her story. Her writing is so vivid that you believe you are seeing, hearing and experiencing everything her characters go through. Her characters are realistic, relatable and relevant. Psychologist Grace Callahan has been treating a client with a secret - a secret that ultimately costs his life. Detective Nate Quinn is assigned to work a homicide case and runs into his old college friend Grace. While they soon realize they are both very different people now, they still have a great connection. What will happen when they find themselves thrown together in the midst of one perilous situation after another? Can either of them decide to open the broken pieces of his/her broken heart and trust someone again? Would it be worth it? What if these are the last moments they might ever have together? I have read many of Harris’ other books. I have enjoyed each of them for different reasons. I found A Secret to Die For to particularly be an adrenaline rush from start to finish. I was provided an ARC of this book by the Publisher and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I also have preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library.

The main characters are incredible! They are well developed and very believable. The heartache that they are each carrying is slowly built upon. We are told the bottom line of what they went through up front. Then the layers of hurt are peeled back. My heart broke for both of them. The plot for this story is fantastic! It is filled with twists and turns as details are discovered. I was completely caught up in it and had trouble putting the book down at times. It really prompted me to wonder, “What if. . . ?” I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion. Grace and Nate working together, his case with Stephen having being murdered, and she was Stephen psychologist. Someone thinks he told her. information, now she wants that killer found. With Nate and his job to solve the murder and wanting to keep her safe. A good plot with twist, high emotion, and a good mystery to figure out why. Given ARC by Net Galley and Revell for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
