Description

Franki's back—with a bite! Halloween is looming large in New Orleans, and Private Investigator Franki Amato’s in a gloomy mood. Her boyfriend Bradley has to leave on an extended business trip, and her slacker brother is coming to town with her matchmaker nonna who’s determined to see a Sicilian lemon superstition bear fruit. Meanwhile, the entire city is spooked because a caped figure is targeting its blood banks. Things turn macabre when a psychic makes a dark prediction about Franki’s brother and a frat boy is found in a cemetery crypt with his blood drained. As bad luck would have it, Franki is hired to investigate the murder by the number one police suspect, an eighteenth-century vampire impersonator. A detective acquaintance offers to team up to find the killer, but he’s interested in more than Franki’s professional input. To solve the case, she goes solo into NOLA’s vampire community and immerses herself in local vampire legends. Can Franki prevent another bloodletting? Or will the next blood spilled be her own? Campari Crimson is book 4 in the Franki Amato Mysteries, but it can be read as a standalone. Traci Andrighetti has again masterfully crafted a mystery which will leave you laughing while frightened for her heroine. Though this is the fourth book in a series, it can stand alone strongly, but be forewarned, you’ll want to read the others. Franci Amato, a PI living in NOLA, has a huge investigation to solve exonerating her client from several murder raps and a blood bank theft. Along the way, you’ll meet some of her repeat characters who will leave you smiling as you read the side stories that enriched the fabric of this tale.

Let me first start by saying the Franki Amato is one of my favorite characters. I really appreciate the Frank Amato series. This particular book, Campari Crimson is a very intense book. It's about vampires, a bit of Halloween, the Bayou and many murders. This book was the most intense of the Franki Amato series for me. New Orleans and vampires. What a mix. Franki has taken on two cases , nonna and brother. What a mess. Someone is literally draining the blood out of people and the vampire community is suspected. A "psychic" has predicted the possible death of someone that Franki knows and there are wannabe vampires all over New Orleans and a few real one. This book is good to the very end. You never see what's coming. Grab your copy!!! You won't be disappointe
