Description

Can two wrongs feel oh-so-right? This bride is about to find out—with the bad boy who makes an epic breakup worth her while.

Bella: I know I’m a princess. I’m used to getting what I want. But all I ever really wanted was a husband and a family. Unlike my sister, Sophie, I’ll never have a brilliant career to fall back on. So what’s a bride to do when she learns that Prince Charming is a cheating snake just a few days before her fairy-tale wedding? With my fiancé begging for another chance, the only way to save the wedding is to even things out with a little revenge sex—and local bartender Christian Jordan seems like the right man for the job.

Christian: If gorgeous Bella Bigelow thinks sleeping with me will somehow lead to happily ever after, I’m not going to turn her down. The guy she wants to marry is a jerk, and her sister is fooling around with my estranged twin brother, Cain. So what’s the problem—besides falling for a woman who doesn’t know what she wants out of life? All I want to do is whisk her away from that church, take her to a cabin in the woods, and act out all our naughtiest fantasies. And I may just get the chance. . . .

The Breakup by Erin McCarthy is the second book in the Jordan Brothers series this is Bella and Christian’s story. Although I didn't read the first book in this series I was able to jump right into this book. I did enjoy this book so I am planing planning to go back and read the first book. So what happens when two completely different people, who are looking for anything but love, meet in the most unexpected and unusual way? Lots and lots of sparks and drama. Bella is the quintessential good girl, who just wants to get married and have babies. She is sweet, the ultimate people pleaser, always putting everyone else first. She grew up in a wealthy family with a domineering father who treated her like a princess. But she definitely has some self esteem issues. She considers her self the dumb sister. She thinks she has found the perfect man, smart, rich, handsome, and her parents totally approve of him. Boy was she wrong, she discovers, one week before the wedding, that he is cheating with more than one woman… In walk Christian Jordan, who is sex on a stick with a bad boy attitude to match, who gets just about any girl he goes after. He did not grow up with the proverbial silver spoon, in fact he grew up dirt poor with a father who is in prison. Christian is only interested in women that are totally unavailable and only looking for a good time. He has a no commitment motto. There were definitely some aspects about Christian that I didn’t care for, but you will have to judge for yourself. As the story progressed he did redeem himself with the love and devotion he showed toward his son and that did make me like his character more. I enjoyed the unique way that Bella and Christian’s relationship developed, their chemistry was definitely off the chart HOT! I did appreciate the author's maturation of the two main characters throughout the book. Bella started off as a bit of a doormat, but in the end she grew a backbone and did some of her own stomping. Christian did some growing up as well, seeing Bella as more than just a rich princess. Overall this book was well written with some good surprises, which always makes a book more interesting . I did however feel that the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked if the author had given us a little more about how Bella and Christian worked out their issues. Overall this was a fun, breezy summer read. ***I kindly received an ARC of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review in order to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This is my honest review.***

Bella is ALWAYS polite, prim, and proper...until she's not. While at her Bachelorette party, Bella has a little too much to drink and "steals" a drink while making harsh comments to the bartender-Christian. In effort to be "nice" to Bella, Christian offers her the drink on the house. While he believes her behavior to be that of a spoiled rich girl, he also thinks she's the most beautiful woman he's ever met. Too bad she's engaged or is she? After finding various "hidden" messages to women on her fiance's phone, Bella has to decide if she wants to be polite or be a run away bride. Christian, never having the family unit he's always dreamed of, vows to never have kids until he makes a commitment. Having already messed up that plan, Christian vows to be the best dad he can with his focus solely on his son. Until he meets Bella. She's everything he's ever wanted, but can't have and thinks he doesn't deserve. It's always easy to say what you'd do in certain situations, until you're actually in that exact situation. While I was cheering for Bella to believe she had value, I realize that's hard to do when you've been raised to be obedient and not question what you're told to do, even as an adult. It was awesome to see Bella's transformation. The overwhelming theme was "Don't judge a book by its cover". They both misjudged the other, but came to love who they were apart and together. I truly enjoyed this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received by Ne Galley and LoveSwept. The Breakup is book 2 of the Jordan Brothers series and while a standalone you might want to also read the first book. Bella know as the "Princess" is getting ready for her wedding and finds out her groom is cheating on her but her mother tells her she should just overlook the cheating and go on with the wedding...Bella decides that she can't overlook it and leave him at the altar. She calls Christian to pick her up and now she must decide what she wants out of life.... Christian on the other hand has a reputation for sleeping around but there is something about Bella that speaks to him. When she calls he goes to pick her up and while sparks fly between them they both need to grow up and take responsible for their own lives before they can begin to maybe have a life together. Will these two figure out how to make that happen or will they just "breakup"??

These Jordan brothers are not your typical Erin McCarthy heroes.......BUT they sure are fun! I have throughly enjoyed getting to know these two hot mess guys! The second book is wonderful! Bella is a high maintenance gal and Christian is a floater. BUT together they work! Read book one first and enjoy the ride!

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I read the previous book in this series- The Hookup. I enjoyed that book but I think that I liked this one more because I couldn’t wait to find out what might happen between Bella and Christian. Their story was pretty steamy. They had such a connection and made each other better people. Bradley never deserved Bella - I think it was mighty big of her to not spread what he had done to cause her to run out on their wedding- he owed her more than a cottage!
