Love this steampunk romance featuring a dart-gun toting, brainiac female Indian agent/doctor, her pharmacologist once-and-future fiancé, a disappearing blue frog with a parasitic hitch-hiker, and an incipient epidemic. The elements of steampunk, biological science, sexy second chance romance, and spy skullduggery blend seamlessly. The result is superb entertainment - a novella that begs to be read in one go, and the promise of more from this very readable author. Thus ends my voluntary and independent ARC review.

A love lost and then found again. Spies hidden in the Welsh countryside. A backdrop of Steampunk blended with scientific elements. All of these add up to an action packed story with a side of romance. Great characters, great story, fantastic world building. An all around excellent read! I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

This is a quick read, with a protofeminist main character that makes her own choices despite society’s expectations. A great mixture of steam punk and steamy romance, the scientific elements (pun intended) are believable and well-crafted. Enjoyed just the right mixture of science, sex, and spies in a fun story that kept me turning the pages.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Anne Renwick; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books. The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I loved the characters. I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

I really loved book! The scientific details add so much authenticity to the story. The mystery/suspense elements are well thought out also and really increase the romantic tension between the hero and heroine. She is very no nonsense and he’s still holding a torch for her, which makes for a very satisfying love story. I’ve read other books by this author and this standalone novella is a nice introduction to the whole series.

Dr. Piyali Mukherji, an agent of the Queen, is on her first assignment: she is sent to a small village to determine the cause of a mysterious infection. Although she’s excited to solve the challenging case, she’s on edge because her once-fiancé is the town’s pharmacist. Evan Tredegar never stopped loving Piyali, however the day he returned from his travels abroad, a tragic event prevented him from contacting her. When she shows up in his small town, he realizes that time cannot erase his love or passion. A Trace of Copper is a wonderful novella set in the Elemental Web steampunk world. It’s a standalone mystery/romance, and knowledge of the series/world is not needed. The main characters are smart and witty. Ms. Renwick’s storytelling is both intellectually stimulating as well as emotionally satisfying. Piyali and Evan remained loyal to one another for the years he was abroad and she was in medical school, and through the mystery of the blue frog, have a means to reconnect and rekindle their love story. The romance is always present in glances and small touches, but the pair would have to push aside feelings to work on the case. But passion can only be bottled for so long when working next to the person you love. Their love story is innocent and sweet, while the separation added a flame of heat to their romance. Solving the medical case, as well as watching all of the other pieces of the story fall into place was exciting. I so enjoy the Elemental Web world and Ms. Renwick’s writing style! I cannot wait to read (or listen to) more! My Rating: A- Enjoyed A Lot Review copy provided by author

This is a wonderfully written and intriguing story. I really enjoyed the steampunk elements and the scientific aspects of this book. There was also a good amount of mystery and romantic suspense. I loved Piyali. Not only is she a very intellectual person but she’s also strong and independent. All things I love in a heroine. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Elemental Web Tale Book Two. Elemental Web Chronicles Book Two.Five. Dr. Piyali Mukherji has been summoned by the Queen's agents to help a small Welsh village cure a strange blue lesion. As the town's pharmacist, Evan Tredegar will be her main point of contact. What the town doesn't know is that Evan proposed to Piyali years ago, and she turned him down. Now, Piyali is ready to rekindle the relationship that they lost, but Evan has a secret that prevents him from going there. As the mysterious lesion spreads, Piyali and Evan must untangle the web of secrets and lies in Aberwyn before the town is completely lost. If you're looking for a short, lite-Steampunk story with mysteries, magical and otherwise, this is the book for you! Audio Review: Anais Inara Chase gives life to the characters and grounds the magical elements in reality.
