An introduction to playing the Blues Scale in a variety of musical contexts, as well as the cultural background of the scale, and its place in music theory. Repertoire examples are taken from the music of W.C Handy, Sidney Bechet, Benny Goodman, Charles Mingus, Maceo Parker, Bob Mintzer and Snake Davis.
