    When Sloan Jordan thought "summoning" souls was just a quirky gift she had, she never thought it was anything more than a supernatural fluke in her genetic makeup. Now, her ability is her worse nightmare when it lands her in jail with murder allegations on her rap. Not only is North Carolina against her, the supernatural world wants her gone too. Warren Parish isn't around to protect her, Nathan McNamara's got his own career to worry about, and the new guy, who looks scarily akin to her boyfriend, might just be a double agent for the antagonists! With plenty of new players joining Sloan's life, she'll have to figure out who she can trust before it's too late. I don't normally read love triangle stories since someone always ends up hurt in the end. However, Elicia seems to have captured the talent to sustain a good mix of love/lust between the characters so that they're not soap drama cheesy, which I appreciate. As you'll read in her other books, she manages to cover this area with extreme brilliance. (The Bed She Made, another one of Hyder's novels, happens to be my favorite love triangle -- or square, lol -- story yet!) Having never experienced love may be a reason why this was an extra juicy mix to this paranormal story.
