I think I can only say WOW about this one. Wonderful read by a wonderful writer. Loved, loved, loved this book! Andrew Gross is right up there with my favorite, James Patterson.

The plot of this book is fine... but why did the author not consult with a Mexican, a native speaker? Were native speakers of Spanish hard to find in NY? Every single name (Lauritzia, are you kidding me?) and quotation in Spanish is awfully, terribly wrong (think of an American character saying something like: "Those policials organisations are going to ruin us whatever we do." Undermines any verisimilitude necessary for the reading of fiction. This sloppiness mirrors what the author himself wants to decry about US policy on drugs: an absolutely amateurish, disrespectful attitude to anything Hispanic, including --beginning with-- language.

Have read all of his books. This one as good as the others. He hooks you at the start and it's hard to put down. It was a good read.
