IInventor Jason Devlin and his nephew/assistant,Stu, are stranded in an alternate universe when his teleporter malfunctions. They are on an alternate
world where it's a 14th century Earth and magic is real. A beautiful sorceress thinks Jason has been sent by fate to save her people from an evil sorcerer and his barbarian hordes.
Her younger sister becomes involved with Stu, however romance between mages--the ruling class-- and non-mages--commoners--is forbidden in this world.
Jason and Stu must rely on scientific knowledge and their wits to survive. However things are complicated when Stu mysteriously develops magic powers...but he lacks the skills to handle his powers.
The two men get caught up in a war when seemingly endless hordes of barbarians led by evil sorcerers invade the civilized lands.
