The story of Layton & Marissa is heart wrenching. Then it ends abruptly trying to get you to buy the next book! Grrrr!

There was no way I could put this novel to bed. It was engrossing and sometimes funny. Marisa and Layton were both well developed characters as were Craig and Denise. I couldn’t wait to find out about their next meeting. It was entertaining as well as informative. I am waiting for the second volume to see if it can stand alone. And where does Layton’s dad fit into this puzzle?

I enjoyed the concept of the story line. But it was very wordy, to the point I would skip over sections. Then to top it off, it was...”to be continued”. Guess I won’t find out for sure what happened, because these kind of books are annoying to me. There are 2 more in the series. Not sure if all are a continuation. But, the covers are all the same. That’s another thing........who puts a brunette on the cover when the “heroine” has long blond curly hair??
not a stand-alone book

I really enjoyed the characters, and felt curious to see how they would open up and change in relation to one another. The interplay between them was fun.

So main character is a blond. Why is the book cover of a brunette?
