It took me a while to digest all the information of the first book, but finally I "graduated" and moved up to the big league. This second Logic book is even better than the first one. THe graphics, amazing. Did I mention the graphics. How can anybody learn an application with those clear and easy to understand diagrams. Forgot about all those YouTube videos. Most of them are a wast of time. his book tells you how Logic really works so you understand it. I now understand it. THank you Mr Rothermich for such exceptional work. Extremly highly recommended

This book not only combines a graphical approach to learning, but also provides clear visualizations in addtion to the concise reading material. I am well versed in Logic and each time I pick up these books, I learn something knew. It also makes for an excellent reference manual. Perfect book for those who wants to begin to master Logic and learn and understand… The Details behind it…. Highly recommended.

There is simply no comparison. These GEM books are the best on the market. I’m always surprised by the depth, details, and clarity of those books.
  • Best Learning Tool (part 1)

I bought the first Logic book from this author (Logic Pro X - How it Works) and reading now the "Details" books to learn all the more in-depth feature of Logic. Watching YouTube videos to learn Logic is fine for a quick demonstration of a single feature or workflow, but there is no comparison to the wealth of information these books provide. Reading through them is almost like watching a slide show, one step away to actually a video presentation. Worth the money. Highly recommended.
  • Wonderful introductions that make a sophisticated program substantially more accessible

Edgar Rothermich's Logic Pro X books are wonderful introductions that make a sophisticated program substantially more accessible. I am a professional composer and orchestrator, and I have read a LOT of software manuals. Most manuals are designed as references, and to understand them you usually have to be simultaneously using the software. Rothermich's approach, although technical and precise, is based on a conversational style and is focused on understanding instead of step-by-step how-to instructions. It's highly visual, and as a result nothing is left to the imagination. The end result is books you can read through from top to bottom, gaining an understanding of the software BEFORE fiddling with it. I highly recommend Rothermich's books for the beginner and intermediate user. They are so well organized that they could be the textbook for a semester-long course, but so easy to read that you might get through them in a week.

I’m half way through the book and although I'm quite familiar with these GEM books, I always amazed by the depth of the explanation and how simple it is to understand even the most complex topics. And I must say, Logic is getting quite complex at times. I don’t know how other people learn that stuff by just reading text without the visual presentation. Talking about visual. Forget about YouTube videos. I haven’t seen anything that provides that in-depth coverage. On top of that, the author seems to know his stuff. Something you cannot say from lot of guys who try to teach how Logic works because they figured out how to upload a screencast to YouTube.

Edgar has leveraged the iBooks format more than any other author i’ve read. Content-wise, everything is in here, great reference material. Free updates (not just typos), including 10.1 which had major updates to the program. He proves his dedication to being the authority and leveraging the platform is a win-win all around. I honestly don’t know how he does it. Thank you!

The best coverage of Logic I’ve ever seen. It is so easy to learn all the Logic Details, and fun too. This price is more than justified. I spent much more money, wasting my precious time to find the right YouTube video (which I often didn’t). This is as close as it gets to a video by having a concepts visualized with those great graphics. Thanks for doing that.

I also have the first Logic book of this GEM series and I am also a big fan of this kind of learning. Had to get this book too and I’am thrilled with it. Finally, I can understand those advanced topics and features that other books won’t touch.

I have the first Logic book in this series and as a satisfied customer, I didn't have to think twice to get this follow up book. In my opinion, these are just the best books out there to learn Logic Pro X -Period.
