This is an excellent read focusing on a former Marines struggles with PTSD and to adjust to civilian life while honoring A commitment to a fallen soldier.Lieutenant Peter Ash fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. A friend from the Marines, his Sergeant has committed suicide and he has returned to civilian life to help the mans widow Dinah. He builds her a new porch with the ruse that the marine corps is paying for it. Underneath the porch is a huge and mean dog which actually belonged to his deceased friend Jimmy. He also finds a samsonite suitcase stuffed with money and explosives. What unfolds is an action packed thriller of mega proportions! He finds himself in the middle of a terrorist plot to blow up a building that will result in the deaths of many people. Action to the very last page!! My highest recommendation!!

Nick does a great job of making a war veteran superhero, who is still very human and struggles with real weaknesses
  • Implausible by any definition

Interesting story for a few pages. A damaged vet, living with PTSD. The break down for me occurs during a shoot out. Mr. Ash drills an ambusher in the middle of the forehead, at 50 feet with a 1911 Colt .45, while under 7.62 x39 auto fire, at night no less. Been a Colt fanatic for 50 years and this is next to impossible, Bob Lee would have a tough time pulling this off. The rest of the book may be excellent, however I won’t read any more about Peter Ash. I like my fiction to be accurate, at least when it comes to firearms.
  • fast and fun read!
