I stopped reading when there was a family plantation and no indication of any thought about what that history might mean.
  • Meh

Good story but not paranormal at all and it pretends to be, hinting at a “darkness” or shadow self that is never fulfilled or fleshed out. Fine if you are just looking for a thriller or suspense story

A good read. The plot twists and turns were believable and kept my interest. Definitely action packed and hard to put down until the end.

It was a very very slow book and described the characters into too much detail

I actually liked the book however I can’t finish the series because one the rest of them are so short <300 pages> for 4 dollars and for a consistent reader , that’s not enough and the second book didn’t really make sense

I really want to give this book 3 or 4 stars.. but it’s written very strange. It jumps around. The story is great but horribly put together.
  • No bueno

Dragged on and on.. predictable plot. Just blah... skipped quite a bit to to get to the end.. *spoiler alert * female lead can heal herself- yea, that’s the magic/ witchcraft aspect of the plot.. 🙄 don’t waste your time/ would’ve given no stars if it were possible 👎

Her light and dark sides makes her normal, more than anyone would care to admit about themselves. We all have dark and light. It’s our strength, weakness, what makes us human. I’m looking forward to Shattered. This story is definitely not over!

The first book in the series was very odd. The plot was weak and disjointed. There was bad character development. I don’t know if it gets better in subsequent books but it just seemed like the first book gave no foundation for a lengthy series at all. It’s promoted as a witches of New Orleans type book but it read more like a poorly developed serial killer book. I won’t be reading any more of these books and I really feel like I just completely wasted my time
