Good flow of story and action, and Art! So nice to have a pictorial go with the story. Clever concept of magical house symbiotic relationship with innkeeper. Looking forward to next installment.

Ilona Andrews’ Innkeeper series started out as a blog free book that was posted by installments. I actually didn’t get to it until it became a book, and Clean Sweep is so good. The characters are very relatable, they are flawed in the best way, the cocky werewolf, the care bear Innkeeper, the arrogant vampire, and the bloodthirsty perma-guest. The flaws make them more real, and not in anyway annoying. If you haven’t jumped onto the Ilona Andrews bandwagon, this is a great place to start!

Such an interesting book! You have a very active inn , the Gertrude Hunt Bed and Breakfast. You have an innkeeper who is very unusual, named Dina Demille. A werewolf, Sean and some vampires of unusual makeup. We must not forget the very unusual Shih Zhu, Beast, who can be viewed as a protector and comic relief. Something is killing dogs and Dina is concerned it might start killing people. So now we have a mystery which gets better as the vampires of a different sort show up. The inn is very protective and can make many changes but the story expands with some twists and some pearls. Read and enjoy this out of world and earthly book as it is good!

Everything that I have had the pleasure to read so far has not disappointed. I cannot get enough of their writing style nor their stories. Ilona Andrews is a dynamic writing team.

So I first discovered Clean Sweep when it was a serial series on the authors blog and I was captivated right away. One of the things that made Clean Sweep so good is that the characters and the world building are so well done. I loved the 'Innkeeper' Dina (and her magic broom), there is such a normality to this character who steps in to do the 'right' thing when trouble from another dimension puts her neighbors in peril - even though she has to bend the rules a bit to do it. Also great are the Inn's sole scary guest , Dina's werewolf SEAL veteran neighbor, and a honor bound vampire Knight who all have origins that are out of this world. This version of Clean Sweep also has some lovely illustrations (I am going to have to pull out my tablet to look at them in color) and a new epilog which adds a nice final note to the story - while still leaving things open for the sequel which is supposedly coming in early 2014. The only drawback for me is that it was a very short novel and there really wasn't much time to really develop totally, the world or the characters. Oh, they were developed, but just not in the manner we are used to with the regular Andrews novels. It also ends on sort of a mini cliff-hanger so I really can't wait for the next book.
