I loved this book the same way I’ve always loved Barbra. She is chatty, tells great stories, and has surrounded herself with warmth. I could have kept reading forever. I remember seeing her first tv special and loved her costumes and, especially, the song “Jenny Rebecca.” She has brought me a lifetime of happiness.

I’m grieving that I’ve finished Barbra’s glorious book! She’s a skilled writer that can transport you to the very decade she’s writing about. Wonderful stories and beautifully captured!

If you love Barbra you will love her book. The famously private woman opens up about her private life. You may think a thousand pages is a bit much, but when you remember her career has been going strong for 63 years, she needs a thousand pages to tell her story. Being a fan for 60 years I loved every page.

I can not believe the detail in which she wrote this book. She remembers everything!!! A Little wordy at times but very interesting. She’s much more down to earth than I expected and actually lives the simpler lifestyle. This is a good read.

Hands-down the best memoir I’ve ever read. Barbra Streisand’s charisma translates to the page as effectively as it does via film and music. She is certainly at the center of the soundtrack for my life as I suspect she is for legions of others. Bravo to her editors and publisher for not interfering with the authenticity she brings to every project with which she’s involved. Her candor and artistry are both refreshing and invigorating. What a treasure!

A song I’m not sure she ever recorded but should! I have long suspected that the “difficult” hype that has swirled around her for decades was just that, hype. Now we hear her own luxurious voice, in print, without the beautiful distraction of a score, telling us the truth. As she sees the work, unvarnished in its beauty and its bravery, and it’s bashert. Never afraid of the criticism nor dogged into silence, she speaks with a clarity only the notes she sings can compete with. Brava. Brava. Brava.

One thing Barbra has done from the beginning is present the truth, and another has been to do her best to control the message. She does both here with openness, wit, self reflection and love. It was an honor to read in the sense that she honored us all by capturing her remarkable story. Enjoy.
