May and Owen hunt for a killer who is taking survivors, the ultimate evil. Something triggered this killer and now he is killing people who survived near-death encounters. He is a psychopath and dangerous. Kerry helps out with a profile, but it is all May and Owen on this one. A thrilling ending!

Another step closer to her sister’s murderer! I really need Blake to give us a book focused 100% on May working on solving her sister’s murder, because while I enjoy these books, I’m fully invested in the little endings we get that give us another piece of her working on it and I’m hooked! In this installment, we see May work to figure out who is behind what originally seems like random killings, and as she works the case she finds the common thread between these victims and works to catch the killer before it's too late. On the flip side of things, May finally gets the safe opened with Lauren's key (after a nail-biter situation with the rusted key), and the findings bring up more questions than answers. I need more of Lauren’s case though – it’s the best part of the book for me and I really want and need that case solved and not drawn out! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Total cookie cutter book. There were no surprises and it was super repetitive.
