This is a solid continuation of the Guilds of Ilbrea series. If you’ve enjoyed other books from the series, you’re in for another immersive, page turning epic. I loved seeing Ena rise from the ashes and fiercely take back control of her fate. Allora, Adrial and Niko had intriguing developments as well. Mara, Tham, and Kai’s story lines involved a lot of waiting that at times felt like filler. I gave it 4 stars because while I’m used to being left on a cliffhanger with this series, I felt like most story lines could have used 1 more POV chapter to really get there with this installment. I felt like I was left still on the path up to the cliff, rather than brought to the edge, if that makes sense. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next book.
