This book in my opinion is good in most areas. I like his stance on water conservation, recycling and bugs. His weeding and use of herbicides upsets me. Dandelions are evil weeds of destruction. They are editable, medicine and most importantly to me, a food source to honey bees. It's this type of thinking that has caused a huge decline in our honey bees. Good book but please think a little more about the use of herbicides.

There are a lot of helpful hints, tips and advice to try in your landscape. Living in SoCal, the water conservation tips will be very useful. I plan on putting them to use this year! As more cities are going to serve stronger restrictions on lawn watering. Good luck with your adventure.

Appreciated the simple, straightforward information to help become a 'green' caregiver for my lawn. Very helpful. However, I was also looking for the same type of information and approach for my vegetable garden as title indicated. Would buy one to raise vegetables in a environmentally safe manner.
