  • Parents of a Murderer

I understand the desire to defend your children and always believe in their innocence but Torey Adamcik is guilty. He committed this horrible murder with Brian Draper. He is NOT innocent and needs to pay for his crime. I find it interesting the Brian sobs and expresses remorse and regret while all Torey does is blame Brian and does not even express sadness for the death of a classmate. He is guilty. Brian is guilty. Period. The family needs to accept it. Their little boy is a cold blooded murderer.

I know it was written by his mother and she believes he didn't do it. Never actually heard any of his words or what actually happened the night Cassie was killed. Never heard how he felt about everything that happened. It still was a good book.
  • Thought Provoking, Gripping, Tragic

This story really effected me, it was hard to put down. It is a thought provoking, emotional story. It sheds light on the legal system and how very powerless we are in certain situations. A very courageous mother wrote this story and gave a voice to the families not normally thought of in these situations. The title is very fitting, the innocent guilty.

I found this book to be very interesting and easy to read. I know there is controversy as many people are upset that the convicted killer's mother is writing her story and challenging the conviction from her point of view, but what else would one expect? I don't recall anything in the book that is insentive or offensive to the family of the victim other thah reliving the experience. And I do believe the book raises some important issues to consider when it comes to sentencing minors to life without parole. Overall, a good read and thought-provoking book.
