Just finished this book: I have to say it's one of my favorites. I loved it because just when I thought I knew what was happening Stuart Woods threw in another twist. This book will keep you guessing until the last six or so action packed chapters. Hands down this book is a must read. I would recommend it to anyone who loves suspense.

There has never been a book of his that I didn't love. I'm addicted. I love all the characters. I miss Elaine.

Ok read. Lots of typos and grammatical errors. No background on the death of Arrington to tie the stories together. A money book, not a keeper book.

Much better than the last book new arrival of Fred will be interesting get Stone back to being the detective and leave out the bed hopping It gets boring book after book. Story much stronger enjoyed the plot worth a read.

If you're looking for great literature, this isn't it. If you want a rollicking good yarn, you've arrived at the right place. The plot is fanciful as it gets, but lots of fun. Highly recommended.
  • Just couldn't get into it

Just didn't enjoy this book. Plot was unrealistic, and dialog not believable. Helicopter gunship fights over the city of NY, with the gunner a "cultural attaché" to the US embassy in Paris (read CIA), just didn't make any sense. Likewise, the main character who has no clue what 40 degrees F is in Celsius, when the guy spends so much time in Paris that the maitre d' of a famous restaurant knows him by sight again doesn't make the story believable. I was generous with the two stars, but I did manage to finish the book.

Another case of Mr. Woods "calling it in". Every other book seems to be a case that perhaps he has an I.R.S. quarterly due and he takes thirty pages of plot and stretches into two hundred and fifty pages. Publish less often with better work, you know how.

Of course, early books featuring Stone Barrington are always going to be my favorites. But I enjoyed this one.

Another excellent Stone Barrington book...can't get enough of him. Faced paced and reads well. Stone's life is ever evolving. Stuart Woods proves yet again that he is an amazing author!

This is the first book I have read by Stuart Woods and enjoyed it immensely. I love the characters and their interrelationships. Stone Barrington is a much different leading character than you typically find in fiction.
