One of the most important books in my walk with Christ. John provides great perspective on the humanity of Christ. This is the kind of book that you buy and hand out to people because you want others to read it. If you're on the fence about this book, buy it.

Reading Beautiful Outlaw it is like unlocking and breathing in the scent of jar of luxury fragrance that had been on your wish list but until now had never actually experienced it. You looked at the bottle all the time as it sat on your shelf. You wondered what it actually smelt like. You hear about people experiencing it. Indeed, for years you have used the same scent, just a different brand manufactured by a discount store. But after one smell, the scent is never the same. After reading this book, how I breathe in Jesus will never be the same. This book is so important. Pick up a copy and ask the Holy Spirit, really ask the Holy Spirit, to help you with it. Jesus is so important, and the way we understand him has been clouded by so much unnecessary, even damaging theology. This book disspells so much myths about him.

What a great portrait of who Jesus really is according to not only the Word of God but Jewish tradition. John takes our preconceived ideas of a solemn serious Savior to a Savior who has personality....a Savior who is not only loving and caring but clever, playful and endearing! This is a great book if you want to really fall head over heels in love with Jesus!

This book helped a guy who resents the church separate Jesus from the business!! Loved it and recommend it to those who are longing for the real Jesus Christ.
