I haven’t read a full book since I was a very young child. I’ve had so many failed attempts. They just never kept my attention. This book captivated me and pulled so many emotions out of me. I didn’t think it was possible to be so emotionally invested in a book. I felt connected to it in a truly deep way. I’m at a loss for words, but I guess I’ll just say thank you… thank you for the amazing story…

Wild is a well-told memoir. Each and every chapter began to unfold their own stories yet demonstrated the growing strength of the plot. Great book!

I liked the info and the story. The writing style was hard for me. Choppy and drawn out in certain parts. Not enough detail in some. I do understand that she’s retelling an incredible journey and I’m not judging that truth at all. It was a beautiful memoir. Very inspiring. I just didn’t like that the writing style threw me off cause I wanted to eat up every word of her incredible journey. I would have loved an epilogue or what she did the weeks/months once the journey was over. I felt left hanging then rushed couple pages of her life after

Great book about a fellow Minnesotan about finding a new chapter in life and overcoming the obstacles in our way.

Cheryls story is so incredible and inspiring. I sped through this book and was so sad to see it come to an end. More please?! I recommend to ANY young woman especially, but everyone should read this anyways! You won’t regret!

She is one of my favorite authors. I have met her in real life outside of her books. And she’s truly a powerful woman

Creepy is a word that comes to mind...boring, sad,and disappointing. Why all her screwing around details are relevant..and why she thinks she needs to tell everyone is beyond me.. It went to the Goodwill... maybe someone will like it...definitely Sounded like every messed up person...so common...nothing new here
  • Interesting personal journey woven through a physical one.

Wild is a fast read that has good pacing and compelling stories stitched through the background of the PCT. The family tales and personal challenges provide the motivation both for the protagonist, but also the reader, as it serves to keep you carried along from one chapter to the next. Ultimately the end of the journey fell a bit flat without a truly satisfying close to what Strayer wrestles with through the book. That said, it’s a unique perspective and an entertaining account of real events well told.
