Too 5 books I’ve ever read especially if you are a New Yorker

One of the best books I have ever read....

Great book...as great as the city it tells about! The best this author has ever written!

It is a fanatic historical novel. I would recommend it to anyone you wants to learn the history of a great city in an entertaining fashion while tracing the story of a fictional founding family from start to finish and their love for New York City. In reading their story one learns what makes NYC the fabulous place it is. A great summer read.

This story has the careful, well-articulated bones of the actual history of New York City, nestled in larger historical context and wrapped around with the meat of generations of intimate personal narratives. It is the interwoven story of the diverse families of people who make up the city and the events that mark it's march through time. A good read.

I felt that I was given a back stage pass to this amazing City! A truly satisfying experience and it is obvious the author is in love with New York as much as I am.

Easy reading and at the same time, most informative. I’ve enjoyed all of Rutherford’s novels and I recommend this one as well.

Anyone who loves New York will love the novel. The characters are completely unforgettable and are used to show you an insiders view of what it felt like to live through the history of the greatest city.
