Not necessarily what you’d expect from your usual fantasy book but a fantastic starting point for those new to the Cosmere.

My dad suggested this book and I loved it so much.

Excellent book

The world is vibrant, the characters deep and real and the magic unique and exceptional! All the pieces for a truly compelling fantasy story and Sanderson delivers it all with aplomb! I truly loved this story and this world, I can only hope to read more of Galladon.

Loved this story. Though it is obvious this is Sanderson's first work it is also fantastically executed and all the characters stand out as unique and interesting. I'll definitely read it again someday!

Multi threaded and intriguing, lacks some of the edginess of the authors later works, but I throughly enjoyed it.

It was his first book and he admits it had some areas that needed improvement. Very slow for a lot of the middle but the end is good. Still worth a read but not his best work.

Couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it. And have read it at least once I year since I first bought it ages ago
