So I read book #1 believing this will be a m/f romance. But be advised, book #2 has sharing with the hero, the. hero’s ex-male lover and heroine. And also it’s not necessarily consensual as well. This author needs to be more upfront with her readers. She has a pattern that has emerged and it’s not endearing her to some readers. I have requested a refund as this is not what I signed up for.

Another amazing story by Amelia Wilde that I couldn't put down once I started reading!! Gabriel and Elise story was angsty, emotional and heartbreaking. Gabriel is not the jerk he appears to be at the beginning of the story. His story is tragic and he wants revenge for all the wrong doings his family had to endure. Elise for him is just a pawn into to his revenge plan but she is not the woman he thought she was, she is all the opposite and willing to sacrifice herself for the guilt she carries with her. Unfortunately for Elise her parents are toxic and that's the reason she left her glamourise life behind. She is a character I truly adore because she has a good heart and is willing to help Gabriel with his purpose. Elise is able to peel some of the layers on Gabriel's hearth but at the end will this be enough? or will the revenge have more power? The cliffhanger ending of this book left me at the edge of my sit leaving this story with so many possibilities I just hope Gabriel choose wisely. I can't wait to read the next book.

MC: Elise & Gabriel 3.5/5⭐️ 3/5🌶 Dual POV, enemies to lovers, virgin h, death/murder (historical) bisexual H, Gabriel’s parents died in a fire years ago. Elise’s dad orchestrated the fire to get insurance money for a failing property. Now Gabriel is back and wants to join “the consortium”, the group his parents belonging to before he believes they decided to kill them. Elise feels guilty for Gabriel’s parents’ deaths and left her wealthy family as penance. Now, Gabriel is using Elise to help get close to the people he believes are responsible for his parents’ death. Overall this was an enjoyable read. The pace can be a little slow at times but the story was interesting. I felt like Elise was a little too naïve for someone who grew up with such a ruthless father but if she hadn’t been, the story wouldn’t have been able to work the way it did.

Oh boy, Gabriel is one sad, messed up boy inside of that hunk of man. And Elise is just filled with guilt and regret. Together they have a love-hate relationship that runs the gambit of emotions. And leaves you hanging at the end. I cannot wait for the next one

Dang! I had a feeling Gabriel and Elise were going to take me on a ride, and they did and then some. Gabriel is focused on revenge and Elise is the way for him to get it. He has anger and a lot of it. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. I read it in one sitting. I am completely hooked on Gabriel. He went through a lot when his parents died and you see just how much. Elise has so much guilt built up in her that she really doesn’t deserve to have. What she dealt with at the hands of her father was horrible. These two are broken in different ways and my heart just went out to them for what they endured. Gabriel and Elise are the same, yet different. They may seem like they don’t belong together, but that is what makes them perfect for each other. There is angst, revenge, some more angst, secrets, lies, revelations, hurt, pain, and shocks. The chemistry they have just jumps out at you. Amelia just ripped me apart and I could feel the hurt and pain that these two felt. The ending was OMG! I need to know what happens next

Will he or will she? Is he using her or is she using herself to exact revenge? This is more about the consortium and the families who are a part of it. Gabriel still wants revenge even though his brother Mason feels he has with the Van Kempt’s. Who will Gabriel use, seduce for secrets, and gather information to get into the inner circle? His past comes back to haunt him, which opens old wounds. He’s been empty for so long he doesn’t know his feelings. He takes Elise, uses her, or is he really protecting her? This story is fascinating and a mystery of how will Gabriel exact revenge on the families who murdered his parents. I love this story💗💘Thanks Amelia Wilde, and I cannot wait for the next book to find out what Elise does.

Oh. My. Goodness. All the feels. All the things! The writing was awesome. This plot was straight fire. Gabriel. Is. Well. There aren’t enough words to encapsulate his awesomeness. Hot. Dominate. Broken. Tortured. Elise. I couldn’t love her more. She’s sweet. She cares. She’s broken. What is their broken edges round out the picture? I can’t even. So excited for book 2! Highly recommend.
