As a longtime fan of Conan O’ Brien, I followed his career from Late Night, to his criminally handled Tonight Show reign, to all iterations of TBS’s Conan. It was during one of his remotes I was introduced to Sona as Conan’s longtime assistant. I laughed loudly as she laughed and silently walked away saying “I gotta go” after admitting she drank too much one night and had the interns pick up her car from the bar she abandoned it at, using Conan’s name to grease the wheels. From then, all her appearances were a bright spot in an already blindingly bright segment. When I heard that Conan O’Brien was going to host a new podcast called Conan O’ Brien Needs a Friend with co-hosts Matt Gourley ( host of I Was There Too) I was instantly interested as I was a fan of both hosts. But then I learned it would be also co-hosted by his assistant, the infamous Sona… I couldn’t wait to see what their banter; my favorite segments of the podcast; would wrought. Well… like the podcast… this book did not disappoint. Full of hilarious stories, some shocking, others heartfelt, we learn more about the; despite what she’ll admit; hard working Movsesian. I also purchased the unabridged audio book so I could hear her inflections as she told her story. I highly recommend this book. She may not need fans like Conan needs friends… but she has them in spades.
