I have rarely found a book that I want to take a while to read because I simply don’t want it to end!! This is one of those books and the epilogue had tears welling in my eyes!! Love Susan and her books!!

Wow what a fantastic book I loved the love and devotion Fred (Grover) Groves gave to Sierra Clarkson who had been kidnapped and held in a Afghanistan terrorist group for a year . This book tells the story of Grover’s obsession with the rescue of Sierra . This is the final book of the Delta Team 2 series and concludes with updates on each of the team members and their families .

It’s Grover and Sierra’s turn. When he first meets the diminutive red head, Grover is struck. He looks forward to getting to know her better via letters, but when he hears nothing from her, he’s truly disappointed. Then he learns that she’s left Afghanistan and no one knows where she went. What is more unsettling is that several other American contractors have seemed to disappear as well. When he gets a letter from Sierra, dated a year earlier, he knows something bad has happened to her and sets off to find her. Sierra wanted to serve her country in some capacity, so she signed on with a contractor to work in food service. The last thing she expected was to be taken hostage by a low level member of the Taliban who uses her to perfect his groups’ torture tactics to rise up in the ranks. Even further from her mind is seeing Grover again, as a fellow prisoner no less! This was an excellent coda to the series and the lovely epilogues that follow are heart warming.

It’s always sad when I finish up with one of Susan’s series and this one went out with a bang Grover and Sierra’s story was a nail biter from her being held captive for a year in Afghanistan to the militia group in Texas their love for each other was great . The synopses into everyone’s life over the years is always appreciated. I highly recommend any of her books
