Least favorite book in the series, could probably be skipped

Despite what a lot of comments say about this book, unless you’re one-sidedly interested in the Spider MC’s PoV, I’d recommend giving this a read. It’s a great addition to the series and even has bits that connect back to the main story. Most importantly, Julius’s past is actually interesting. While Shun just falls in the role, is super naive, and comes off as playing “pretend hero”, Julius earned that title, going through all sorts of trials and tribulations from a young age. Reading all of this and the final scene really makes you lament what his fate will ultimately be next volume. So, if you’re interested in more of the world building, give this volume a try. It’s a great addition to the series.

Following an incredibly boring one-dimensional character doesn’t make for good story telling. The most interesting parts of the entire book are Sophie’s diary parts. Doesn’t add anything to the story progresses overall either…a bad filler arc

I would have preferred to have some of White’s perspective, but this is still a very good book.

I love the series and White, but reading a book that is essentially useless information that fails to advance the story was disappointing. Hope the next book is back to the story I love!

Man what a slog just to read the few pages worth reading. This is one of my favorite series so it was a shock to buy this entry and be so let down. Here’s hoping the next entry is a return to form or I’m done.

Even though you don’t get the POV from white this book it was still interesting and fun to read. It gives you a knew perspective about what is happening in that world.

Just skip this one. Seriously just don’t even bother. This volume is nothing but content about a character whom we already know to be dead and doesn’t move the story forward at all. Please don’t do something so stupid again Okina-sensei I’m begging you as a big fan of this series. I feel cheated for wasting my time and money.

An entertaining side story though Julius seems a bit too stereotypical.
