While I appreciate Claudia‘s insights and self awareness for the extremely privileged life she has led, I was disappointed the more I learned about her and her opinions. I don’t think young women should idolize someone who cares so much about celebrity gossip. While I do not fault Claudia for tweets from her teen years that she has since apologized for, I do fault her for glossing over the grossly Islamaphobic and racist comments her mother makes on a daily basis. Let’s call a spade a spade, the reason her mother is not on any of her daughters social media is not because of her safety but because they are aware of the public’s opinion. It is well known that she is their mother and so if the issue was safety they would not post their location at all. I too have lost a parent and understand the bond you hold with your remaining parent but that doesn’t mean as a public figure who chooses to release a memoir that you can call her views conservative and move on. Disappointing.

A bit long-winded but overall a great story of overcoming obstacles and how to cancel “cancel culture.” Super relatable and funny :)

This book is seriously so well written and I loved every second of it. I laughed, I cried I learned! I absolutely despise reading and cant remember the last time I read a book by choice so this is saying something.
  • This book has it all - would recommend for any pop culture enthusiast

This is the first book I've read that made me cry & laugh out loud. The chapters on grief are heart wrenching and relatable. The pop culture references are told in a way that you'd imagine your best friend recounting a Hollywood party if she was somehow famous for a night and came home to share the details with her home friends. The true theme of this book is growth and the ability to learn and move forward. We are all given hurdles in life but Claudia recounts her struggles and missteps with simultaneous self awareness and compassion.
