Wonderfully whimsical ! A splash of romance and mystery. Very entertaining!

I had another fun adventure in this series. Bessie is even lower in class than the fairly ordinary (non-gentry) heroines in this series thus far. There is one scene where one might suspect the clothing the Goblin King is modeled on that of another Goblin King, in the movie Labyrinth—but Greunwald is not dark-blond & blue-eyed. He is quite the mysterious character.

What a delight to read a story of an enterprising young woman in a classic fairytale. Her poise in difficult circumstances should be a lesson for us all. Readers of all ages will find this story gratifying.

A happy marriage of well written period piece and fantasy that has you lingering over the passages and saddened by the turning of the last page. Bess is a heroine like no other, and I look forward to reading more!
