I love this book , love Fitz and Becca and the playful banter but why does this author make all the ladies in her books .. eat and eat and carb load ???!!! With such amazing fine men who could sit in front of them and devour donuts , pasta and eat their feelings I am not a perfect size 7 believe me and work hard to stay healthy and have been married almost 30 years but could never see myself gouging on so much fating food… and booze I love her books and the fun banter and passion but that is definitely a “yuck “ moment for me

This was one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time! Becca is so witty and funny and when she’s paired up with Fitz, they become a powerful couple in all categories. This book had me up late wanting to finish reading it and times where I was glad I was drinking something because it wouldn’t have been pretty from the caught off guard laughter! Than you Ms. Monroe for making my day, week, month, and year so much better!! Seriously, if you haven’t read one of her books, your life must be pretty dark because her books bring nothing but light.
  • Fabulously written romantic comedy!

Best Man is swoony, full of laughs, and riddled with enough sexual tension to set a building on fire. I’m a complete sucker for ‘fake relationship/marriage’ tropes, and Best Man hit the mark! With an inheritance on the line that comes with certain conditions, Becca is in dire need of a husband…like, yesterday. But when her soon-to-be husband ditches her at the last minute, Becca goes from desperate to hopeless. So when Fitz, a complete stranger – granted, an utterly sexy, British stranger – steps in to fill the role, Becca soon realizes that being fake married to a drop-dead gorgeous and charming heartthrob might not be so bad…or it might be the biggest mistake she’s made in her life. I really loved this story! Not only does it have dynamic chemistry and attraction between Fitz and Becca (which, believe me…WOW) and is layered with humor and witty banter, it’s filled with heartwarming emotions and actions that seem truly uncommon in today’s society. It showcases the lengths to which one person with go to protect those around them, even if it’s at the cost of wagering one’s own heart in the process to a love that’s unknown. This book makes me want to get ‘fake married’ myself, but I don’t think my husband would approve of that. *sigh* Oh, well. Such is life. I’m really sad to see this series come to an end. Best Man is a fabulously written romantic comedy and the author is an absolute genius. And in the spirit of looking on the bright side, I’m incredibly anxious and excited for what she’s bringing us next! Well done, Lila! 5 Stars!

My first read in this series and have to admit to laughing out loud, in several places. The rich, lackadaisical play boy meets hard working, good hearted, shapely female and the rest falls into place. There are bumps and rocks in the road, but all works for a fun read. Enjoy this one.
