This book was good but not one of my favorites. That being said, I would not dissuade others from reading this book for each person’s taste is different. For me, a fan of this author, I found this book a little slow in places with less plot development than her other novels that I have read.

Cheesy and boring. No chemistry between the main characters. The language was boring and generic. Won’t be reading any more books from this author.
  • Truly delightful!

Well written with just the right mix of romance, sexy sensual play and a good story. I’m hard to please when it comes to sexy romance novels. Good writing is a skill I value above all else and this author is quite good. The characters are well drawn and the plot is believable. I hope you like this book as much as I did.

I loved this historical romance & highly recommend the hot, steamy love story of Lord Nicolas & Gillian, his daughter’s companion❣️😍. Ms Boyd is a skilled storyteller, & her characters either warm & likable or cantankerous & conniving are wonderfully believable‼️. Grab your copy of The Duke & I for hours of reading pleasure⁉️👏. I believe you’ll agree with my 5-star rating - ENJOY‼️👍. Carol R. Florida USA

Short and sweet. I enjoyed the story overall. But what I will never understand is how a regency author messes up things that are so easily Googles. A duke is never Lord Title. His duchess is never Lady Title. His grace and her grace. Your grace. The duke and duchess of title. A duke’s daughter is not Mrs. Lastname even if she is married to a gentleman unless she chooses to be. And someone like Rebecca would never choose to forgo her courtesy title. So she’s remain Lady Rebecca forever unless she married a titled gentleman and because Lady Title. Also. Why would Jessica call her sister Mrs Warner. And why was mrs Warner lame times referred to in narration as Mrs. Warner and sometimes just Rebecca. It was confusing. Speaking of confusing: just how many kids did the duke have. And why not make Gillian a bit older? He doesn’t want his ten years his junior friend with his daughter who is ten years younger than Gillian. But it’s okay for him to be with Gillian? Like I said. Needs editing. Needs a basic Google search on title etiquette. And needs consistency in references and more explanation.
