Sad to see Joe have to go. Hopefully Rufus will get to go on Aroostine/Rue’s next adventure.

I thoroughly enjoyed and found myself immersed in this Aroostine Higgins novel. I was worried it would devastate me because Joe was gone, but Mrs. Miller wove was he story so completely and carried the reader through the grieving process that it was but a silver thread in a beautiful tapestry. It was sweet, real and relatable and so perfectly written. I was drawn in by the very real world situation with Dahlia and the pipeline and turned page after page because I just could not put it down. The rich character development continues and I love the overlap of characters from book to book and even across series. This was a quick read (maybe because I couldn’t put it down) and once again has left me anxiously waiting another. I’ve also added a few “vacation spots” to my list based on this book and the characters in it. I am very excited by the path this novel has placed Aroostine on and can’t wait for her next adventure. *I was provided an advance copy of this book.

Arootstine.wants to be alone, taking personal time to grieve. Carole, telling her a native girl Dahlia is missing, and needs her help, they need a tracker. She does animals, not a person. Then given the charm of Dahlia of a beaver, she always wore, would the spirit help track her. She had been at college till Berock Force’s recruited her to work. Arootstine is off the grid now, till she finds Dahlia. I found this to be a powerful story, even in her grief she is trying to help others. The way she uses her instincts, the animals to give her clues. Interesting, and held you captive to the end,
