Loved reading this, could hardly put it down. Certainly a page turner.
  • Boring and predictable

Jessica is completely unlikeable. Not only does everything go her way (and even if it doesn’t, it quickly readjusts to her liking), which makes for boring reading, but her character isn’t believable enough. She’s always talking about how “lucky” she is and how “miraculous” things are - and she’s right. From being lucky enough to having a cop dad to being lucky enough to finding a freaking apocalypse bunker, Jessica is just so goddamn lucky that I learned not to get too tense about any conflict that arose in the story, because I knew Jessica would be — gasp — lucky enough to overcome it, or someone would perform a miracle for her. Not to mention the author apparently only knows how to describe people by their hair, skin, and eye color, which led to me mixing up my Lauren’s and Karen’s and Sharon’s and Lindsay’s. I could go on, but this series doesn’t deserve the brain cells needed for the vicious review my heart really wants to write. tl; dr: Even Twilight is a better series than this one.

I loved everything about these books. I was transplanted into a logical world peopled by all too human characters that were easy to embrace and enjoy. Well done. Very well done!
