  • Quick Character Introduction

Christmas with an Angel is a quick interlude to introduce us to future characters in Debbie Mason’s Harmony Harbor series. It is a fun, quick read, but there is little romance and definitely no happy for now. I enjoyed seeing more of Michael and Shay and look forward to their story. If you aren’t a fan of teasers, this is not a good choice for you. I have a feeling that it will be a good read before their book comes out, I don’t know when. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novella.

If you’ve read Mistletoe Cottage, this little novella will bring in some new information and start to set the scene for a new romance –but if you aren’t familiar with that book, you really do want to grab BOTH books. Picking up where Mistletoe Cottage left off, it’s Michael’s turn to let off steam and get drunk – whinge to all your buddies drunk even if you are the one who changed your life plan from attorney to cop at the last minute, without feedback or consideration for your fiancé. So, she had her heart set on a high powered attorney, mover and shaker in the political arena – and he either never listened, or went along to get along – and it’s over. Then we have his ex-girlfriend, one he knows he treated badly years ago, and owes her an apology. Thing is, she’s always been around one on the wrong side of the law with her father, and she’s got history. Lots of it. But the attraction is still there….even if they are so different. Clever plotting and plenty of interaction to show these two as the second chance couple that might be. And this will be a fun one – their interactions are clever, sharp and the attraction between them is steamy and tense. Perfect set up, and reads just like a long prologue to a longer and more complex (and telling) story. Best read by those who have the background from Mistletoe Cottage, this is a clever little in-between novella to fuel interest in the upcoming Starlight Bridge. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This is book 1.5 from the Harmony Harbor series. This book probably should not be read as a standalone novella. For reader understanding and enjoyment, series can be read in order intended. Michael and Shay have a very interesting past. It all comes to a stunning and fast paced story where they meet again after a decade goes by and maybe it is possible to heal all wounds. Or is it? This series has so much going on. This book was too short for what it had, and I am hoping the books coming in the series will make it make sense to me. This author is good at weaving a tale, so I am in it for the long haul. ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publisher, in exchange for an honest review only.
