This book will take hold of you and pull you in. I couldn’t put it down, I started it one evening after work and stayed up until 4am to finish it. Kitty has such a unique way of writing stories that don’t leave you once they are over, they stay with you and on your mind for days or weeks. For 3 weeks after reading this book, I found myself going back and rereading, not that, that is uncommon for Kitty Thomas books and me but every time I have read over it, I discovered something I missed or interpreted the complex word of Quill and Saskia differently. This book is dark, it is intense, it is an emotional roller coaster filled with every emotion there is and it is pure art.

Quite an intriguing tale this was. It starts out one way, a beautiful starving artist (literally) who decides to run a con on a business man instead of stealing a painting he wants her to. Months after she thinks she’s free and clear, living in Venice, he shows up letting her know he knows everything. And then really blows her mind. Which pretty much happens from that point on till the end of the book. Mind-Blown. Lots of secrets, lots of “whoa” moments, and some fascinating characters that you’re gonna keep trying to figure out long after you’re done reading

The game was on and it was a long con. The twist was not unexpected but who was unexpected. If you are looking for the lovie dovie everyone falls in love and gets all sweet this is not that. This is desire, a need to posses and own and a love hate relationship. Overall a good read.
