  • A Terrific Read!

An Ambitious Engagement makes for a wonderful read. Luke Reynolds is a satisfying combination of confident, stubborn, caring and protective. Kennedy is a fiercely independent go-getter with a family loyalty streak a mile wide. Toss them together in a fake engagement as they chase after the same client – a client that could make or break their careers – and you’ve got instant fireworks. Kylie Gilmore has, once again, created a group of characters that are so much fun, you’d love to invite them to dinner. Not only are her lead characters a fun couple to hang out with, but there’s also Luke’s wonderful and funny extended family (and trust me, all the Reynolds/Marino men are H-O-T Hot!). Kennedy’s brother causes her some headaches, but watching her do whatever she can to help him makes you love her all the more. And the cherry on top of this particular character sundae are the potential clients – an eccentric young billionaire and his new bride. Believing everyone is as in love with love as they are leads to some awkward yet steamy hot situations for Luke and Kennedy. Everything I’ve come to expect from a Kylie Gilmore novel is here – family warmth, quirky humor, and plenty of spicy heat. Another winner for Clover Park!!

I Loved the way the book started with the car chase. It was funny how she handled it when they met at the golf course. It was fun and games after that all through the book. I enjoy reading your books because the female characters are strong and not just the male ones.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book eight of the Clover Park series with Luke and Kennedy. Luke is a financial planner and must land a big client to not be cut during his company's upcoming downsize. He finally get s meeting with the eccentric billionaire and his competitor, Kennedy, at the golf course. Kennedy needs this client, her first, to prove she can be more than an assistant. Not only that, she needs the money to help support her family. As the eldest, she needs to help with her father's medical bills and the needs of her younger siblings. Kennedy confirms to the client, not only are they a couple but they are engaged. Only one of them will be chosen as his financial planner. Both Luke and Kennedy have strong personalities. Kennedy's fake-fiance game goes too far and the stage is set for disaster. She is kind and you cannot help but feel for her and her family's predicament. Luke has depth but likes to hide behind his money slick facade. A great story to fake it until you make it!
  • Luke and Ken are engaged! Actually, it's Kennedy

Luke is expecting to best Ken Ward and get the Bentley account. Turns out Ken is actually Kennedy and a beautiful woman who unexpectedly announces that they are engaged. And turns out they have to play a round of golf against each other for the account. Sparks fly throughout the story. Not the typical fake fiance storyline, this book does throw a few curveballs at you. It is an enjoyable read. One of those that you don't want to put down, but yet their relationship is one of those exasperating ones where you think you should just knock their heads together. Glad for the HEA. A reader does not need to have read any of the series to enjoy this book, a good standalone story. Look forward to reading more of Kylie's books. Ladies-man Luke Reynolds meets his match with feisty, young Kennedy. Although inexperienced in the field of investments, Kennedy is so motivated by her present circumstances that she conjures up a blatant lie to win a client. The lie not only shocks the hell out of Luke, but entangles him fully. Too shocked, and somewhat smitten, Luke doesn’t call her out in front of a potential client. No, he decides to go along with Kennedy’s fake engagement plan, knowing that in the end he’ll win their competition for the billionaire client and have fun bossing Kennedy around the billionaire’s guest bedroom in the process. Great banter between the hero and heroine had me smiling throughout the book. Another winner in this very fun series of Clover Park books. (My favorite being Not My Romeo. You don’t want to miss that one either.) Highly recommend.

Another amazing book in the series! I must say, the circumstances under which Luke and Kennedy met were rather unusual. I couldn't believe it! The uniqueness of it was so refreshing, and it set the tone for the whole book and had me hooked. In typical Kylie-fashion, the story flowed so smoothly and had a perfect mix of humor and emotion. Oh, and the love scenes were SMOKING HOT. I liked how I got to catch up on characters from previous books in the series (though each book is a stand-alone and can be read, in my opinion, in any order). All in all, the story was great, as expected, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!! ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
