  • Good, but not the greatest of the series

This book just kind of ended abruptly...and I don't get why. I loved Asylum and I very much enjoyed Sanctum, this one randomly ended with Dan saying "thanks for the trip but going to go home now." :( kind of disappointing. The epilogue kind of was odd too-he meets his mother in the middle of no where...idk. No relationship development between Dan and Abby either, not sure why she's holding back on that!!

The book was full of twists and turns that you would never know what might happen. It kept me off the edge of my seat just trying to guess what might happen next. It informs much about Dan's family history and ties up many questions from the previous books. I can't wait until the next book to be released!

In the eerie vein of the others in the Asylum series, "Catacomb" takes the main characters and readers on a road trip, encountering creeps and spooks on the road until settling in New Orleans. Perhaps because of the road trip"Catacomb" is a little back and forth and wavers in it's true direction at points, aimlessly wandering until it hits its stride halfway through. Despite this bumpy beginning, fans will adore the photos and mystery of Dan and his two friends, as well as a deeper mystery finally uncovered.
